Any advice on this problem? My NX500S notebook is falling apart -- hinges, etc. I initially thought the problem was the power adapter -- the connection kept failing. So I purchased another power cord but the problem persisted. Then the case started to come apart, pieces fell off, etc. Because I didn't recognize the problem was with the casing, not the power cord, the warranty period is expired so I'm stuck. Just talked with Gateway who said they could repair it for $300!! I might as well buy a new computer.
