Hey Folks,
I"ve come across this Gateway laptop the has bent prongs on the CPU that I can't straighten. (pentium 4... 2.66ghz/512k/533fsb)
I see CPU's on ebay that have the same specs, but I am unsure if they are compatable. The damaged CPU has a number "SL247"... and the ones I see as a replacement have similar #'s, but not the same.
Will these CPU's be compatable?
thx,
Alan

Is it possible you mean an SL724 ?
I see one on ebay for about $25

Just to further add, WVN is Gateway shorthand for "Wolverine", which was Gateway's code name for this notebook.
I believe the original manufacturer of this machine is Quanta (who I think highly of), and if I recall correctly, the M350 is a solid, well made machine, even if it isn't particularly stylish.
That said, Pentium 4 notebooks did have a tendency to run hot. -
Thx Spiff... (luv Calvin & Hobbs)
