    No, I don't have a Gateway. I almost bought the M210X but was "swindled out of the deal". I saw the rankings of the major PC makers and saw Dell and HP/Compaq at the top so I figured that they must be doing something right to sell so many computers. Acer is making a big jump but they are not widespread enough for me to want to buy one, nor are they mainstream.

    I have been posting on the Gateway forums to share in my remorse with how they handled me personally. Maybe other people's experiences are different, esp. when buying from Best Buy. Gateway lost its credibility and business from me.

    Funny story: As I was picking up my dell at UPS. There were two people in line who had similar horror stories and they were picking up Dell's too. That is such a crying shame.

    People never learn from mistakes in the past. Look at Micron...they dropped out of the running. I think they renamed themselves MPC. Maybe Gateway should rename themselves to sell two or three more computers (GW). Maybe someone will relate it to George Washington who 'always told the truth'.

    There is no problem with Dell support being in India. When I called the lady was very articulate. It also helped that I mentioned that I just visited in November and that my mother in law is from the same town as the lady on the phone.
