It is illegal to install Mac OS on any laptop other than a MacBook (or MacBook Pro, Air, etc).

Just wanted to inform you because this thread should be closed real soon...

Doesn't stop Psystar from doing it. And the validity of Apple's EULA is now being called into question. I know Psystar won't win their case, but I really hope they make a lot of trouble for Apple.

I don't see why it matters. A mac is a superior product because Apple not only builtds the OS, but they design it to only work with certain components. This helps keep quality control very high. Windows goes for the pot luck approach where anyone can make anything talk with it, provided a driver is created. The day anyone can buy a Mac OS and install it on whatever they want is the day that Apple becomes another microsoft.

If you want to run mac's OS, save up some greenbacks and get a mac. I have a new 13" MacBook and I love it. The only reason I have a windows based PC anymore is to play games that the Nvidia 9400 can't handle on the boot camped partition thats running XP.

I haven't tried in a while, but I got OS 10.4 installed on an Emachine running a celeron, and also a Sony with a Pent 4. The biggest obstacle you are going to have is getting your devices working. Sound always seemed like a big issue to get working right.

If you google, you will find. But as mentioned here by others, installing it on a machine that is not made by Apple is a violation of the terms of use, EULA or whatever you want to call it.
