    just wanting to read up on this and see what it requires, I am also getting a replacement lcd since i didnt get the higher res screen

    I have a t9600 in my p-7801u, which basically the same machine. Works great.

    Here's a video on youtube for the 7811, which is essentially the same as the 7805u. By the way, the 78XX and I believe the 68XX FX series share common internal layout.

    You may also want to factor how much you'll to spend on the LCD screen (which goes for $150 and above), versus buying one from the NBR Marketplace(I saw one for $975, 1920x1200). I believe the 7805u with the 1440 x 900 res still goes for $800 or so on ebay.
