Gpu temp jump to 57C(idle) during that loud 2 second fan noise? Mine does, is this bad?
-
57 is within normal limits for idle temp... What 2 second fan noise are you referring to?
-
I'm sorry I can't answer your question directly because I haven't checked my temps during that 2 seconds that it happens, but I can tell you that my fan cycles up like that too sometimes, and that 57 degrees is nothing to worry about at all. -
My 7805 idles between 42-45C, I have a nc2000 pad too though.
-
it normally is at 43C then slowly goes up to 49C which is wierd but I guess it doesnt matter and during that 2 second thing it jumps to 56-57.
-
Just out of interest, what are you using to measure your temps, and when is the fan cycling up for you? (I can't imagine it's at bootup unless you have everest/HDMon/whatever on startup?).

Ahk... I got nothing... Sorry.

The CPU revs up when it hits 48-50c. And it will go on until it drops it down to 42c. When it first revs up it is pretty loud, As it gets settled it tones down a bit, still able to hear, but not like the first burst. Than after it gets your GPU down to 42c, it stops.
Happens with all P-7805u/P-7801u/P-7811 systems. -
ok thanks.

Not a problem.

mine stays between 37-42 idle. but i do leave my laptop raised slightly at the back. before it was during gaming, now all the time. during gaming it goes up to 65-70.
57 is a bit high for idle. make sure the vents aren't blocked and u don't rest the comp. on any cloth type material. bed, sofa's etc. those are murder for gaming laptops. -

that temp is actually fairly good. there were some people that were idling 70C+ until they upgraded drivers.
does your 7805u's
