so long story short i decided to re install xp media center on my gateway mx6422 notebook. so i did that. i also re formatted the hard drive... and wiped everything out... including my drivers. i went to gateways support site and atleast got some drivers that work (wireless, ethernet, media card reader) but the sound for some reason just wont install correctly and gives me a "failure" message under installation status or whatever it was.
thats one driver problem...
also for some reason... its not very smooth scrolling on web pages (i have smooth scrolling on) and also when i make the explorer screen smaller and move it around its also very... laggish and leaves trails for a very small amount of time... just like if that option for the mouse curser was on where it leaves trails was on.
another thing im just now discovering as i type this... i think maybe the keyboard driver might be messed up too? im not sure but every two lines or so the curser will jump up two lines and everything im typing will start typing there (like i just pressed the up arrow twice)
and just now actually it went back 2 words haha so im not sure whats going on with my computer
is there any place to get a pack of drivers that work - right?
or what should i do?
any helps apreciated

well you dont have a keyboard driver to download its built into windows. Might try contacting gateway support see if they will send you a drivers cd for your model. What os did you run befor you tried xp media ed?

yeah that sounds like a good idea actually.
when i got it at bestbuy it actually came with the media edition... i tried installing xp pro thinking maybe there might be a little bit more drivers included or something but i guess i was wrong lol
