I have an M5405 and it won't charge. The people at bestbuy said it was power jack, but I would like to make sure. Is there a service manual available anywhere to explain how to take it apart? It doesn't look broken, but I guess it could have lost a solder point because if I wiggle the power cable, it sometimes connects.

You can try another power brick, but since wiggling the power jack can sometimes fix it, it definitely does point to the power jack or a bad connector on the power adapter.

definitely sounds like the dc jack, if you want to try your own hand at the soldering if you've got the tools it would be cheaper but much more risky. if you don't want to buy a new lappy i would say bite the bullet and send it in. $80 is the usual for a dc jack fix.
