There was a post in the gaming forum about this already - it plays great maxed out.

Should be OK on a 6831FX too (at lower res). I'll post a FRAPS test later.

Windows rating is overall pretty useless, it only tells you how you will run Windows. Even my 7950GT scored 5.9 on the graphics.

If your looking for something like that try... http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

I don't recommend for the site or anything, just what ppl usually use. You should be able to tell from your system specs versus the game spec's how it will run. Your mileage may vary.

There always seems to be an issue with targeting with some of the new FPS. I'm sure it's something to get used to.

Meh, I can't even get mine to work.. Starting to get frustrated, seems like I'm not the only one with a P-7811FX PC that's not working either.

When I load the CD, I get a repetitive message saying:

This application has failed to start because WSOCK32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

    [ OK ]

So, I click OK until it goes away.. and when the install menu comes up.. I click install (instead of Tech Support) and I get this error:

An error (-5004: 0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Bethesda Softworks ( http://fallout.bethsoft.com).

    [ Report ] [ Detail>> ] [ OK ]

Anyone know what may be causing this?

I had the same problem. The fix is to rename the install shield folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield to say InstallShield.old. I'd probably recommend changing it back after the installation.

I briefly tested it this morning:
Stock P6831FX, 1440x900, no AA, no V sync, everything else maxed. The intro part of the game ran very nicely, but I didn't get to the outdoor portions. Will update when I do.

I maxed out everything and there is some slowdown in the outdoors when fighting but it was slightly noticeable. It got quite noticeable when on battery but i was still able to play. My system is stock.

I've played about 2 hours into it and I love it so far. Mind you I'm much more the Witcher/Oblivion type of player than guns ect, but the world interaction is VERY engrossing. I feel like I'm a small grain of sand in a huge jar right now, but I know that the potential for what I can do in this world is near limitless.

I also 'feel' like I can really develop my character the way I want to fit my playstyle, but I'm having doubts on how a melee based character will survive here, but I'm willing to find out! Do keep in mind I'm going to have a sub-spec in small arms (assult rifles ect) because I'm sure it would be extremely difficult to progress w/o a firearm in this world.

I do like how the world, and characters are very crude in nature. Crude being how people would act at near lawlessness...

Performance and graphics wise, it's all excellent in first person, but I agree with the reviews that say third person seems to be an afterthought, but no character in 3rd person from this studio has ever look fluid ;).

I'm going to be off for a few weeks so I'm looking forward to really digging into this and splitting it between my time with The Witcher EE.

Anyone experiencing a slowdown when VATS starts? Everything stops for a few seconds and then highlighting different areas or changing targets is extremely slow. Should I turn off AA and AF? Everything is set to max settings.

This just started recently, I didn't notice it at first. It seemed to happen when I first played the game on battery.

Anyone else noticed the same stutter as in Oblivion, where the game clearlz runs well on your system, but inexplicably stutters?

I do hear a lot of crackling in the audio when out doors, and been seeing those micro stutters...but seems gone after I enabled vsync.

do not game on battery with the 7811..it will downclock to half speed. That's the problem someone was experiencing. No powermizer fix, it's the BIOS that controls it(johnksss' research)
