Yeah its not like the older FX (or most computers) where you would get a constant humm of the fans that would increase as needed. Your fans will be almost dead quite then rev up to med/high RPM's to cool the CPU/GPU and then once thats done (1 second or so) it will drop back down to very low RPMs again.

Not sure if its a better method or not, but the new FX (78xx and after) all seem to use it

Hard drives fail mate, its just the way it is. Its nothing to be overly alarmed about.

Just test out your machine before you load all of your apps on it and you will generally be fine.

on another note the build of the 7915 is so much better, seems more rugid and sturdy, and not to mention its amazing how most of the time just browsing the web ect. the fan doesnt even go on.

Its the same chasis it just has a different graphic :p

Its might sound like that to you, but it should just be a high RPM "woosh" sound before it drops back down to its low RPM setting (but the fan is still on i promise)

yea i hear the woosh thats not the problem i hear this high pitched eeeeeeeeeeeeeee sound too, when it first turns on.

Also the laptop had a minor scratch on the case barley noticable, and what i noticed is you know how on the monitor where those two things are that hold the monitor, and how they have that plastic over them, the left one didn't.

Yea i heard the fan turn on again and i heard the wooosh now i hear the eeeeeeee in the background.

IDK do i think i should get it replaced?

Its probably fine, and you just happen to be sensitive to the harmonic that the fan produces.

With out being able to hear it myself though i really cant tell you if it might be the fan being messed up or you just have an easy time hearing the tone it produces.

And while i'm here to be as helpful as i can i'm not driving to your house to listen to a laptop fan :p
But you might can get a friend to listen to it and see if they can pick up the same noise. That might be able to tell you if its the fan or just your hearing

Keep an eye on temps and keep that noise in mind, perhaps the fan is on it's way out, sounds like the fan might have a bit of resistance. I'm assuming the heatsink vents and fans are clean and free of hair/dust/dirt/etc.
