It turns out that power supply fried my motherboard.

they found out that the power supply output is 0 and they suspect that that have caused also the motherboard to break down. now the motherboard has a short circuit that no one wants to work on it.

even if they can find where the problem is parts will be the next problem.

so all i was thinking is to sell the motherboard for parts and buy a new one.

if someone can help me with this i would appreciate because from next Friday until Christmas break i have to submit an assignment every Friday.

i really need a laptop to work at home.

oo very nice so i wont change the cpu for now. what about heat pipe for GPU
260 has higher wattage compared to 8800 GTS

i cant remember who posted a thread that he changed the heatipies of his gateway with the one for quad core and for the 260, they ware like 15$ each

well and compared to 300$ for the same motherboard with those money i get a better gpu better cpu support and ram but i have to buy the gpu heat pipe. i believe it will be cheaper than 300.

    thanks again niffcreature

i just need to find a heatipie like the one for 7908u and i believe i will order them on Monday.

Ok so i found the ram. it will cost me like 30 euros for 4 gigs

GPU not sure, CPU on the P78xx has 2 different heat sinks. The one with the short legs is the official C2Q heaatsink so be default is rated for a higher TPD CPU. Even stock the cooling system of the P78 can not handle even athe q9000 at full load with prime95 and keep the CPU at full throttle. You will have to undervolt for that. However the x9100 at stock voltage and 3.06 GHz will run fine but at high temps.............
