    does the gateway 6831 us 12.5 inch hds like the new 750 gb one from wd?

    nope, standard 9.5mm, you'll have to wait a few more months before you can get 750GB-1TB drives

    Unless you're willing to give up your optical bay (i believe its 12.5mm bay) but dont quote me i've never really looked at out optical drives to see is a smart bay set up would work very well
