For games like Warcraft 3 and Diablo you don't need much RAM. 1GB should do it. Also if your PC supports dual channel memory you will be better off getting another 'identical' stick to increase speeds.

If you were doing more 3D intensive gaming such as FPS and modern MMOs I would suggest to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM. But if you are mostly doing RTS and older games, then 1GB should be sufficient.

503MB of ram seems like a weird number, I am wondering if it is because you are sharing it with video memory because you have an on-board video chip? I am guessing you have a stick of 512mb memory in there. Get another stick of 512 memory of the same type, doesn't necessarily have to be the same manufacturer.

Also it would be more helpful if you gave your specs of your PC, since there could be another reason that the games don't run well. GFX card, processor, etc.

And yeah, this is a forum for notebook users. There are tons of other websites for PCs, where you would get a lot more input.
