nope, that would be 1440P which is 16:9, this monitor is 16:10 and is closer to 1080P (1920x1200).

    Hey wawawawa -

    Welcome to the board.

Is it OK to call you "wa"? :)

They have either the native resolution of 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) or 1440 x 900 (WSXGA), wa.

This t h r e a d in this Forum may help you on your quest.

Pretty much a guessing game, but I'm presuming all the new models that are coming into stores are the 1440x900 models.

I thought a threat was started to try and find out which model number had which screen.

Hadn't heard of a single 1600 screen. seems, as mentioned, either the 1920 or 1440 variety.

Computer LCD's typically come in the 16:10 ratio which is

    1920x1200
    1680x1050
    1440x900
    1280x800

    And occasionally the 16:9
    1920x1080
    1600x900
    1280x720

    Yes.

The FX P-78xx series, so far,

    is only 1920 x 1200 or 1440 x 900.

guys sorry for bumping this oldie up. As I found this thread, I am planning on upgrading my wxga to wuxga. While there is wuxga for sale on Ebay, which were said to be used for 7811 / 7805, anyone know if these lcds will work for 7808?

    THanks

Thanks for replying man. I knew that 7811 was originally using a wuxga, so did 7801. However, 7805 and 7808 came out of factory with wxga (in spite of the earliest batch products were using wuxga). Mine 7808 now is a wxga, is there anyway I can upgrade to wuxga? I asked several ebay seller, some say I could, some say I couldn't. I don't know who to believe!

Hey I'm planning on buying one of these too, with the 1920 x 1200 resolution of course. Though I can't answer your question I'm wondering, is Gateway purposely not telling everyone on the boxes that their screens are better than the normal laptops? Is Gateway just crazily playing a game with us?

More likely they had a blunder of wrong screens.

It seems they keep having the blunder over and over. I just picked one up today and got the LG screen at 1920 x 1200! I'm stoked!

I've somewhat been pointing that out -

those that say only the early 7805u's have the WUXGA screen are not correct. Even some of the latest ones seem to have it.

I'm wondering if sometimes when they are making the 7801u's, in order to also produce 7805u's, they are using the same assembly line?
