i currently have a gatway fx ulitmate gaming system. it came installed with the nvidea geforce 9800m gts graphics card with windows 64-bit vista. most of the software i have been running has been having issues with 64-bit compatibility, so am looking into downgrading (upgrading really) to a 32-bit xp os. does anyone know if there have been any issues with running that graphics card on the 32-bit xp os?

no, there are no issues with the card whatsoever. however, you have 4gb of ram installed and no 32-bit os can implement the whole 4 gigs. you have to have 64-bit os for that. by the way, which software are you having difficulties with? the only piece of soft that was giving me problems was zone alarm (they don't have a 64-bit ver. out yet), but everything else works fine, even office 2003

i work with autocad, and the problem i've been having is converting an autocad image to a pdf format. there are applications that work, but there are errors with everything. most of the programs that work do not have 64-bit versions available. some do and i have been using the trial versions which have not worked properly, which could be due to simply the fact that it's a trial version. i was not aware that 32-bit does not support 4 gb ram, good to know and thank you!

just try looking for a program that does work for the 64-bit os. i bet they are out there, just do a little googling. you just need a format converter, right?
