To answer your question, yes, you can get a replacement battery from alot of different places. You can get it from Gateway by going here:

    http://www.gateway.com/retail/accessories.php

You didn't mention a few things though. What model laptop do you have? When you say it has 15% wear and only three months old and don't use it that much, why are you concerned now, I mean, if you hardly use it? How do you know its only got 15% wear and not 25% or maybe just 5% wear? Have you tested it with a software monitor like HWmonitor which will tell you the capacity of the battery, what the "actual" capacity is and so on?
From what I have read it doesn't sound like your in any actual crisis and have time to shop around for the best price on a "spare" battery. Remember that there are some batteries that don't require being drained routinely in order to function, those days are going away with the new technology. So if you haven't unplugged your laptop in a while don't fret.
    Good luck! :)

If you bought it at Best Buy and got the BB warranty on top of the Manufactures warranty, then you should technically be able to get a replacement at Best Buy. They may not have any in stock.
As far as Gateway "only" warranty, I think you could still talk to BB as see if there is anything they can do for you to help or your going to be online or on the phone with customer support(Hahaha..) sorry. Its just that "Gateway Customer Support" is an oxymoron.
If you bought it with AMEX or other credit card, see what it does to extend the original warranty and the return times. Call them to see what can be facilitated.
    Good Luck. :)
