Hi, I am from canada and want to pick up a gateway laptop from the U.S. I heard that electronics made in the U.S do not require you to pay customs. So my question is: Are gateway Laptops made in the U.S?

I think the question should be, how do you intend to purchase the laptop?

If you're picking it up in person, I'm actually guessing the customs may not even notice you 'importing' it.

I know, that's why its so funny.
    I can see it now

Mounty "what brings you to Canada?"
    ChaosX5 "nothing, just going home"
Mounty "Oh ok, drive saf... hold on there now that wouldn't be an illegally imported laptop in that case would it. That's mighty illegal, and I'm going to have to give you the most sever punishment allowable in Canadian law... a sever talking to"
    :p

no disrespect meant to Canada or Canadians... just good hearted fun

That's what Canada is for. :p

Gateway is Headquartered in the U.S. They used to have their HQ in South Dakota when they first started the company, but now they have it in CA.

Gateway is 100% made in China. They don't have any manufacturing going on in US.
