I am looking to upgrade the processor on my m325x. It has a 1.6GHz and I would like to go higher, can anyone tell me how high I can go? It is the centrino pentium m, 400MHz buss and intel 855PM chipset. Any help would be appreceiated

I suggest you check the specs on your specific machine. See Gateway support: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Gateway/M325/1008421nv.shtml. A word of caution--this shows the M325 as having a 910 or 915 chipset, rather than an 855 (which according to the spec sheets is in the M320).

But in general, you should be able to replace a 400 FSB Pentium M with another 400 FSB Pentium M--thus, any Banias or 400 MHz FSB Dothan processor, although a BIOS update may be needed.

I believe the 765 at 2.1 GHz was the fastest 400 MHz FSB Dothan.
