    gateway mx6027 no audio please help

    i was give a gateway mx6027 laptop very nice computer but it had 37 viruses on it so i did a lowlevel format on it downloaded the drivers from gateway but i cannot get the audio or modem to work i have been trying for weeks to get it to work i have phoned gateway but they were little help is there something i am doing wrong i had it working when i had to do a repair on windows xp it worked but i had to wipe it again so i am back were i started :(

    So you formatted your notebook and you tried to install these two drivers:
    Sound
    Modem
    And they still don't work?

    No, I have the same problem with my laptop thats also a MX6027. The installer does not work. The hour glass shows, but then nothing happns. Im utterly frustrated with it.
