gateway netbook?

I recently bought a gateway LT3116h in Calgary at futureshop. I have been searching for a replacement battery for this machine, cant find it anywhere on internet! On further investigation I found that I couldn't find this netbook either! The battery is UMO9A51, Panasonic I think, 10.8v 2200mAh, also this netbook has a little more information on it that tells me it is an Acer ZA8. Have I bought a Gateway or an Acer product? Why is it nowhere to be found? Could really do with some help on this folks!

 

Acer was making netbooks for Gateway if I remember correctly. It is entirely possible that it is an acer model.

 

Well, Acer owns Gateway. Do a Google search of Gateway ZA8 and search through results and something there may help you out. You could email Gateway and ask them or go here and contact one of the vendors and ask them about it.

My problem is that I live in the UK so it is not so easy for me with Gateway who havnt really been much help to me! A search for Gateway ZA8 returns no results. Search for battery returns no results! I just dont get it? Surely I am not the only person in the world who has bought this netbook, or tried to purchase another battery! I found acer ZA8 but not a lot of information about it, plus is this the same laptop as mine? The confusing thing is I bought it as an LT3116h but cant find this actual model even on the Gateway site, it doesnt get a mention. Are the LT31 range interchangeable batteries?

Did you go to the link I had in the post above? Did you contact one of the vendors?
I had thought that you had already been here: http://support.gateway.com/support/supinfo/index.asp?pg=2&file=mo.html and looked up your model manual to compare.
As for your last question, "Are the LT31 range interchangeable batteries?" The batteries that come with say the P-7805u are the same batteries that come with the P-7809 or P-7811 or the P-78 series. So you could assume that perhaps that same applies to the LT31 series. Check the link I gave above and see if your battery specs match up.

 

Got a LT31 myself and discovered that yes they have many parts in common with the Acer models since they are owned by the same company - the LT3116H that I have is basically a AO751h with an AMD CPU when it comes to case parts and batteries.

I replaced the 3 cell stock battery with this 9 cell - and it fits and works great

You should also be able to choose from the matching models for the 6 and 3 cells
