    hey i was wondering if anybody got linux to run the on the p-6831 fx. Do is it run very well? How is beryl on it?

    youll get the mods on you when you speak of installing OSX on a intel computer , Why i have no idea because mac owners install windows xp on there systems but its there rules so i would edit your thread or they will just close it .

    I'm sorry, but installing OS-X on non-Apple hardware is a violation or their EULA and our forum rules. Sorry, but no help.

    Yeah, Ubuntu.

    Install went fine, dual boot Vista and Ubuntu.

    Sound doesnt seem to work out of the box.
    WiFi and LAN do work out of the box, thank God or Gateway or both.

    Im not done installing drivers yet, hopefully this weekend.
    I was trying Envy to get the nVidia driver installed for Compiz to run, but need to get lots of updates via internet (i have problem with internet, long story).
    So if all goes well afther this the beryl effects will be up and running!

    i haven't got good luck running ubuntu yet on any besides the xps m1210 anyways i don't even want linux on that machine do to hard drive space
