I want to put a second hd in my 7801, that has a 320 gb 7200 RPM.

    Can I use a 320 gb 5400 for raid 0?

And can it be sata 2?

    Thanks in advance.

Sata II is our standard, if the original drive is 5400 the you should also use 5400. The speeds do not have to match but it is best for performance you match as close as possible and even best to get the exact same drive to place in the second bay.

    tks Tan,

The 7801 hd is a Hitachi, 7200, I think is hard to find where I live and I think it is not a good idea to buy one overseas and receive by mail;...

    I will put a WD 320 7200

    edit: can I use a sata 3.0?

You didnt mention which type of raid you are referring to so ill assume its raid 0.
Theoretically you can run a 7200 and a 5400 drive in a raid config, even if they arent the same size. But remember that your raid array would be as fast as your slowest drive so I wouldn't recommend it.

tks, it is raid 0, as in the title.

So as I understand, I can put two hd with diferents sizes...

and could they be one sata 2 snd the other sata 3?
