I have been checking other peps 3dmark06 scores for the p-7805u. Mine is at 5500.... others i see at 8-9k all day long!! Why is mine so bad?? This is write out of the box i have only installed crysis which seems a little laggy.

edit: Also i have tried setting it to high performance.

there is something wrong you should get about that not o/ced.
are both ram sticks ok? take one out and test. and then do it with the other one. are you running a lot of programs? if so turn them off.
my buddy has the same lappy and gets over 9k stock.
also what res are you running it at?

First of all, go download PCDecrapifier. This will get rid of all the software that comes preinstalled on the 7805u, which will increase your 3dMark06 score by a lot.

Second, some programs to clean up other files. CCleaner, and Auslogics Disk Defrag are 2 free programs that I use every night before I shutdown.

Third, once your computers all cleaned up you need to try out different drivers. Stock drivers should get you at least 8k, but with some experimenting and OC'ing you can get over the 9500 mark.

Nevermind.. sorry didn't see the OP's edit..

I'm not too sure my man, outta the box mine was doing pretty close to 9k, i believe like 8900, then after some tweaking and cleaning i was getting 9500 easily.

Make sure you are plugged in to an AC outlet when you run 3Dmark because if you don't your normal score should be reduced to half of it because basically your GPU is under clocked. Look at my sig. and you will see my score and I just use NVIDIA's drivers and no overclocking.

I have a question about DOX drivers. Why are they better than official Nvidia drivers?

They arent always, but typically he optimizes them for better preformance by taking out some of the trash that isnt needed. So while this can lead to a pretty decent preformance boost it can also sometimes lead to instability.

before 186.03 my last two drivers were DOX
