    has anybody installed ubuntu in their laptop if so is it difficult how big does the partition have to be i dont want to give that big maybe like 15gb-20gb will be fine.the partition is hard for me any tips to accomplish this without me messing something up from my vista side of things

    I'd recommend at least 10GB. With a 15-20GB partition you can insdtall all the bells and whistles.

    Yeah I have it installed. I now have Vista 64 and W7 64 and Ubuntu. Windows 7 has 100 gig and Ubuntu has 40 gigs. Ubuntu works great. I dont use windows to partition I use gparted for that. I tried windows and seems like its always difficult to partition smoothly. Primary is W7.

    Now having the "bells and whistles" is great. Problem with linux and apple is they make packages of "bells and whistles" and some packages will conflict so dont install all of them at once. Install one and try the other.
