on the 7811fx i'm getting pretty high temps...after only about 5 min of playing crysis, the temperature got up to about 89c!!! is this too high? i'm not overclocked, so it really shouldn't be this high...might the heatsink need cleaning out? if so, how do i go about doing this? i've only had the laptop for about a month and a half or so, so i don't think it needs cleaning out...
when i first got it though, my temps were a lot better...only lately has it gotten worse...

Unless you are using your laptop in a dust bin you should not need to clean anything out after one month of use. I like to clean mine out ever 6 months and even then there is only a light amound of dust on the fan and the fins. The max temp for your GPU is 105c, so 89c probably isn't going to break the laptop. Are you using a cooling pad? This may help decrease your temps some... if you are interested in voiding your warranty you could replace the thermal compound and that might make a difference as well.

Try a different driver.
Running games vsync'ed will also decrease your temps. You might have to tone down settings a little though -
well, i kinda got a solution: i underestimated the value of propping up the laptop...when i did that, the temps dropped dramatically...but i would still like to know whether 89ish is normal for the 7811fx not propped up....
and thanks for the tips Tabbedout!! -
Running furmark, mine goes up to 92-94 after a few hours.
