Got my 7805u couple days ago.... wondering if any one is getting this. I think it may be from the gpu fan. my buddy bought one the same day and he is not; as far as he can tell; getting the noise. If it's very quiet in the room the sound is very noticeable... like a very high frequency eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. it goes away occasionally but is apparent 75% of the time. I'm very anal when i buy a new laptop, plus i went on vacation the day after i bought it so I cant go to best buy till next tuesday to compare, and the not knowing is driving me crazy. feel free to add your 2 cents.

It doesn't sound like anything to worry about really, but if it bothers you, exchange it.

Mine does (or did) the same thing.. the others that I've had didn't do it, or at least I didn't notice it.

Mine has that noise if I flash the bios to 9c.08.00 and 9c.12.00. But somehow 9c.10.00 doesn't give me that noise. Just my 0.2 cents.

    Same noise with some BIOSes.

Now I've got .10 bios and the sound's gone.

Anyway, there was NO such trouble out of the box, and whe I started playing with BIOS flashing - it appeared.

Wait till you grow old or blow your eardrums out with music so that you won't hear the noise...
But yeah try switching the Bios, something must be wrong if there is a noise..

You need to flash to an older version I think... which is 9c.10.00.

You must have pretty good ears still or the sound is really bad...
