    how do i disable the touchpad in 6860FX?

    i think there is something in device manager.

    i tried uninstall the ps/2 compatible mousedriver , which i assume is the touch pad because there is no ps ports on outside of the laptop. but nothing happens...and there is no touchpad options in my devise manager whatsoever. sigh*

    (Right Click) on touchpad Icon in the bottom right corner.
    (Click) on Pointing Device Properties.
    (Click) on Device Settings Tab.
    (Click) Disable Button with Synaptics Touchpad V... Highlighted.

    To enable agian redo the above steps except enable Button with Synaptics Touchpad V... Highlighted

    On some software you can have it disable with you plug-in your mouse, the version I put on after I installed Vista 64bit does not have that option :(

    for some reason the touch pad icon isn't there, i restarted it and still can't see it

    Did you look for it in your control panel? Maybe uninstall the driver, then reinstall.

    it worked on mine. try going through device manager

    ah, reinstalled driver from my recovery disk and the icon showed up :D thanks a lot
