If the drivers aren't on the site you're going to be hard-pressed to find them, you shoulda just kept Vista IMO. Anyway good luck. Check the gateway site. Other than that I don't know what to tell ya.

According to this, which I found with a google search, no one had been able to get the mic working in XP. You really should have just stuck with Vista. It works beautifully on these machines.

Because the laptop was not designed for XP and neither were the drivers.

Probably best to just reinstall Vista.

RDP: DO you mean like connecting to your computer remotely, because it has that. Back up functions? Yeah it has that. It was just you ultimate would not perform any faster.

LOL@garbage. How funny. You DO realize there are about 68 bajillion remote PC control programs as well as backup programs, correct? Most of which are free.

Look... This is running vista HOME PREMIUM. I'm pretty sure it has everything you want. I took these screen shots myself on my vista home premium system.

    wow seriously ................................................

all that does is just back up your files and doesn't create VHDs like business and ultimate so basically it cant image the machine in VHD format
plus remote desktop connection is beyond crippled
next time do a little research before posting
i know i prolly sound like a jerk
but lately vista been giving me a headache so i putting it on my second hdd

You said there was no remote desk top so obviously you didn't know about this. Don't go pretending you did know and just didn't like it because I proved you wrong. Now as far as the restore thing you're looking for that should be more than sufficient. If not then as stated before there is FREE software out there that would have done what you wanted. You are the one that should have done research before posting here because you screwed your system up. I would advise putting vista back on and getting your software rather than buying a mic.

yes i clearly said there was remote desktop connection but i said you cannot control that pc by it
and i also stated there is no functional rdp! (well there is a hack) you most likely have no clue what rdp is
its obvious you don't know what your talking about
there is no good free backup software the only good ones which costs are ghost and acronis and the built in vista one
iam not screwing up my pc...i just need to find a driver for the mike or maybe i am just doing something wrong enabling it

There isn't a XP driver for the mic. Not one supported by gateway anyway. There a very slim chance you might find one made by private user, but there is a slim chance there. And how is that the the computer can't be controlled by another one? If you are allowing remote access you are allowing someone to remotely access your computer. This sounds like what you want. That's what I always though RDP was.
And for disk cloning type stuff check here: http://www.thefreecountry.com/utilities/backupandimage.shtml
