I have a gateway MX3412 laptop. I was trying to disable my touch-pad mouse. I went to "control pannel" --> "mouse" --> "Hardware". THere were 2 devices. one is my external PS mouse, the other one is "HID compliant mouse".

anyways, i want to use the external one(USB) only. Does anyone know how to disable the touch-pad?

    Thanks

Are you trying to disable it all together, or only when a USB mouse is plugged in? If it is when a mouse is plugged in, are you looking to have it done automatically or be done manually?

actually, i only want to disable the touch-pad. I tried a couple of things in the "control panel" as i mentioned but it didn't work. And I just want to disable it, so i'll try whichever way can make this happen.
    thanks
