Hey, how can I improve performance for video editing, like with after efects, maya, etc. Should I get more ram (It has 3), or do you think that upgrading the processor would make a big difference, and if so, do you know where I can get one at a good price? (limited budget.) Thanks.

I think that upgrading the processor would make a big difference and that you have enough ram, but I'm no expert so wait for other people.

As for where to get a good price, newegg.com is a great reliable site with good prices too.

Processor will be the main thing

All thinks will go through processor to be processed so that will make the biggest difference

if you work on big projects i would say to upgrade ram to 4Gb cause i work on 3ds max and i know what happend if you do not have enoght ram

For heavy duty video editing/encoding stuff, I like using OSX systems (Mac Pro)
If U are using a laptop, should upgrade your cpu and max RAM
