You could have knocked the hard disk connection enough that it came unplugged a bit. Open it up and disconnect the hard disk and then reconnect it. be sure to turn power off and take out battery before hand.

reseat your ram while your opening it up too.

Lol. Just take a look for yourself. I recommend an electro-static discharge wrist strap, but if you don't have one then you can touch the metal on the laptop surrounding the keyboard if the laptop is grounded (plugged in with all 3 prongs) to discharge yourself. You will also need a small phillips screwdriver. Unplug your laptop when you are working on it and take out the battery.

Well s dude. I think the mouse working is an indication that some of your OS loads. If I were you I would try to get all your unbacked information off of it. (You will need to plug your hard drive into a working computer.) Hopefully your drive is still functional but just has errors that prevent it from booting. If you are unable to see the files on it you could try using the EASEUS tool that is designed to check for deleted files. I'm not sure that that would do anything though since you didn't delete any files.

Like I said, try to back up your files, then you can worry about repairing or reinstalling the OS.
