I was looking for imput on a xmas gift for the wife; i just purchased a gateway NV7928U laptop. I have found mediocre to poor reviews (after my purchase) on gateway laptops. The retailer only gives a 14 day return policy so I want to make sure this thing is not a POS because I want be abel to return it come dec 26th. The specs are below I paid just under $500 for the machine. Any and all comments recomendations, cautions are welcome. I would be more than willing to take a different configuration if it means more reliability. This machine will be used for home purposes, and will mainly surf the net email facebook and mabee a movie or 2.

That series is not as popular as the primary series on here, p78xx, but hardware failure is a very VERY rare occurance among gateway products and often happen because of extremities. But for web surfing etc, you won't see any issues
