    what is the diference in the hard drives of 5400rpm end the 7200rpm, the diference is notorius?

    what is the best for my p6831fx?

    can please show me a link for the compatible hard drivers

    the diference is most notable on bootup and loading applications. The 5400 rpm hdd that came with your laptop should be sufficient, 7200 rpm drives run a lot hotter than 5400's as well.

    The difference is not as crucial as the difference between 5400rpm and 4200rpm, but it will give you better performance.

    So, the 7200rpm is best for your laptop, but may cause an increase in temperature as was mentioned.

    Performance differences also depend on platter density; a 320GB 5400RPM is comparable to a 200GB 7200RPM because the R/W heads do not have to travel as far to access data that is closer together. Therefore, I recommend that you look for a higher capacity 5400RPM hard drive with an SATA interface (according to your model).
