ok well i dont know much about this laptop. i wass looking at the sagers, but it would be running me almost 2500$. i live in canada, and want a gaming laptop.
i see it has a 9800M GTS and people say its upgradable, so is it? i want a 9800M GT at least.
is the computer good? any reviews, benchmarks etc?
is the processor upgradable?
is there any place i can get it in canada without having to order it, since i dont really care for it. also, if i have to order it, then ill get a sager 5796/ 570Tu from eurocom.
is there also a better model, or whats the best model out right now?
thanks in advance

also, i may be talking about the 7811. is this better? is it upgradable? is either upgradable to a 9800M GT or 8800M GTX?

Well the 173XL is a very nice laptop, it doesn't come with the 9800GTS it comes with the 8800GTS...The GPU is not upgradable...The computer that comes with the 9800GTS is the Gateway P-7811...The CPU on the other hand is upgradable...Why don't you just come on down to the good ole' USA and stop at the first Best Buy you see and ask them for the Gateway P-7811...Other then that you would have to order the 173XL from www.tigerdirect.com or www.compusa.com but i'm not sure if they ship to Canada...Hope this information helps...

in general, most laptops you buy will not have upgradable graphics cards, unless you get a very customizable laptop, in which case you're talking about something ~$3000 or more probably. that being said, the 9800GTS has higher clocks than the 9800GT, but it is still not as good because of such things as the shaders. the 9800GT is normally not noticeably better than the 9800GTS.
just a few questions about the 173 xl
