Has anyone done repair on laptop USB ports? I currently have a M-6860 Gateway and have one of two ports on the left side broken the clip inside the USB port. I was thinking of taking about the laptop and unsoldering the port and putting in a replacement ports to fix it so I would again have two USB ports on the left side again. So anyone have a good steps on how go about this or information on where I can find to help me before I try to replace the port. And no I don't want to have a PCMIA USB port or the likes until I know for sure I can't replace the USB internal ports first.
