Right click Synaptics Pointing Device in the lower right hand side of your screen..

Go to Properties -> Device Settings -> Click Synaptics TouchPad V6.3 and click Disable..

Only way I know of doing it..

I like Dell's software that disables the touchpad if a USB mouse is detected. Why can't we have that option? :(

We do have that option, just update the Synaptics drivers.

Someone posted them in one of the big threads, or you can google it if you're feeling lucky.

Er, not sure if you're still looking for it, but check my sig. I assumed you wanted to "turn" it off when you plug in a USB mouse

Thanks, works great with my P-FX and my MOGO x54 media bluetooth mouse. So it's not just limited to an external usb mouse.

What a great solution for those who don't have a hardware disable button.
