using most recent version of itunes 8 on my P-7811 FX, music skips for less then a second, but you can hear it, its getting annoying, whats causing this?

also, when i ran check disk on O&O, it said there was 1 error, so i ran a windows disk check at start up, didnt do anything, still says my hard drive has an error, how can i find out what it is

    Download glitch or server error.

Well if it does it on everything its not a dowload glitch or server error. Do a system restore to a point in time when you did not have this problem.

You know, when I installed a wireless USB connector to my Gateway Desktop at work, I noticed this skipping that would happen in all my music or movies, regardless of program player that was used...

I did some research and apparently having a wireless connection can cause these "hiccups" when it refreshes looking for different connections. It doesn't happen with every Vista computer, as I've been using my P-6831FX and I also used a Toshiba laptop with Vista before this and never experienced the problem, it was only with my Gateway desktop.

There was a program I downloaded which actually stopped it, but it always had to be activated... worked like a charm for me though. I'll have to turn on the other computer but I'll let you know in a bit

haha yep it is. They were the last show along with BTBAM I saw before moving to Mexico 3 years ago :D

Well dang, my desktop computer at work doesn't have it installed and I can't find the URL for it.... quick test though, just turn off your wireless and listen to a song and see if it stutters. If it does, it most likely is something else (there are other problems that cause it apparently).

Was the version of itunes that you are currently using already installed, or did you do an update?

i took off the battery, held down the power button for 15 seconds, removed the hard drive and put it back in, then switched the places of the RAM. booted up, and im listening to "Indestructible" by Disturbed, which was one of the songs where you could REALLY hear the skip. and have not heard it yet, have listened very carefully for 3 times, gonna try the rest of my library and ill let you know. im really hoping this is a fix and not just me wishing it was.

haha, I forgot I had skipping music right after I installed my new CPU... but I figured out it was Everest and a reinstall fixed the problem.
