using most recent version of itunes 8 on my P-7811 FX, music skips for less then a second, but you can hear it, its getting annoying, whats causing this?
also, when i ran check disk on O&O, it said there was 1 error, so i ran a windows disk check at start up, didnt do anything, still says my hard drive has an error, how can i find out what it is
-

Does all music from itunes skip?
-
yeah its not just one song
-
Is it only i tunes music that skips?
-
Download glitch or server error.
-
well it seems it does it with everything, i was watching a video on youtube and i could hear it.
-
Well if it does it on everything its not a dowload glitch or server error. Do a system restore to a point in time when you did not have this problem.
-
it does it when i have headphones on too, so i guess that elimates the speakers being faulty, maybe i should try reinstalling the drivers?
-
i've heard from other people that they have this problem only on vista, i've noticed that too.
-
im gonna uninstall the drivers and try using just the plain High Definition Audio Device drivers and see if that fixes it.
ill post results. -
You know, when I installed a wireless USB connector to my Gateway Desktop at work, I noticed this skipping that would happen in all my music or movies, regardless of program player that was used...
I did some research and apparently having a wireless connection can cause these "hiccups" when it refreshes looking for different connections. It doesn't happen with every Vista computer, as I've been using my P-6831FX and I also used a Toshiba laptop with Vista before this and never experienced the problem, it was only with my Gateway desktop.
There was a program I downloaded which actually stopped it, but it always had to be activated... worked like a charm for me though. I'll have to turn on the other computer but I'll let you know in a bit -
alright thanks, i dont have wireless usb, but i have my mouse receiver plugged in, and im using my wireless g network
btw
Fear before the march of flames <33333 -
haha yep it is. They were the last show along with BTBAM I saw before moving to Mexico 3 years ago
Well dang, my desktop computer at work doesn't have it installed and I can't find the URL for it.... quick test though, just turn off your wireless and listen to a song and see if it stutters. If it does, it most likely is something else (there are other problems that cause it apparently). -
yep it still does it >:[.
should i try without the mouse receiver plugged in?
sigh, still does it with the receiver not in -
Did you ever try doing a microsoft sytem restore to a point in time when your computer was working properly?
-
-
-

Send an E-mail to the tech people at Gateway and see what they say.
-
-
sigh, anybody else who has a 7811, can you help me?
-
Did you read and try any of those links I gave you up above?
-
they said to reinstall the IDE/SATA drivers, which i did, it didnt help.
ive emailed gateway, cant wait to read their response >_> -
WOW IT WAS PEICE OF **** ITUNES!!!
i downloaded Zune, played my music in there, works fine, and as for the music skipping when i stream it off the net, found out its not just me, it skips for everyone who listens to it. it was a song uploaded on a music myspace.
i feel foolish. -
What about the youtube video you said you were watching and it happened?
-
i forgot about that, ill have to go see if its all youtube videos or just that one.
-
):< it seems, it wasent itunes, zune also does it, its just not as easy to hear, itunes were alot more noticeable. sigh, and gateway support just directed me to a windows vista support file that was talking about if youre getting NO sound. i swear, morons work the support lines.

i took off the battery, held down the power button for 15 seconds, removed the hard drive and put it back in, then switched the places of the RAM. booted up, and im listening to "Indestructible" by Disturbed, which was one of the songs where you could REALLY hear the skip. and have not heard it yet, have listened very carefully for 3 times, gonna try the rest of my library and ill let you know. im really hoping this is a fix and not just me wishing it was.
-
Hope it works out for you
-
Do u have everest running?
