hello my name is jove and this is my first post in the forums.
OK, im sure this has been discussed in depth in these forums...but...
shouldnt there be a way to somehow "unlock" the gateway bios? or reflash them somehow? Has anyone tried this with success?
there simply has to be a way to be able to manipulate the UMA! Not even able to change clock speeds (not like you want to in a laptop unless you managed to shove some liquid cooling in there)
but still, we should work together to figure this out...128megs of vram would be nice... expecially for vista / halflife 2![]()
email hackaday.com ?

haha i hope so, i suppose they "lock" the phoenixBIOS in order to prevent users from inadvertantly frying there computer... but really...why wouldn't you just make it more difficult to get into the bios...more so...why would someone lacking the computer skills to make sure they dont change anything they shouldn't...be in the bios to begin with?
****it gateway.... GRRRR -

Those are Catalyst Drivers that are most up-to-date for Windows XP -
you are correct! BUT upon changing them in the control panel under UMA buffer Size it prompts you to "reboot" in order for the changes to take affect....upon rebooting though....it goes back to 64mb
