Hello to all, This is my first post and i must say that im very suprised at the great info you all share. I have been playing with computers for about 4 years now and am kinda new to laptops we just got the internet up here in North Dakota... HA HA just kidding. My question is after i added a 1 gig stick of ram to my MX6421 i noticed at pcpitstop it says system ram 512 and windows ram 1471mb. What does all this mean? what is windows ram? why dont it show 1.5 gig for system ram? Thanks for all your valued information.

    Mike

Hey bigmikematthews. I'm glad that you found that the forums are useful to you, and I welcome you.
About your problem, I'm not sure on what the "windows ram" means, but I am confident that the 1472mb ram is due to your shared videocard. There is a way to decrease the ram taken by the videocard, unfortunately I can't help you there.
I hope this is of some help to you :)
