This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     mx6931 using sfc

    somehow lost the audio drivers but was able to reinstall them from the back up...thought i would run the system file checker program (sfc) in xp media edition...it ran untel it needed to replace something and asked for the xp pro sp2 cd the cd that came from gateway is the media edition cd so it said to install the proper cd...dont have the xp pro cd just have the media edition one from gateway so how can i correct whatever problem sfc finds without doing a complete system restore...can someone tell me if i can do a system repair on this os so i dont loose whatever programs i installed....thanks
