mx7515 video problem

I bought a Mx7515 [with radeon x600]on saturday and like many i partitioned the harddrive and installed windows XP pro just to find out that it had no drivers. Luckily i was able to find the "blackimperial" site which helped me get my laptop up and running. However, i am stuck with one problem that is the video. i have installed an omega driver, however when i try to install "catalyst 5.10" i get two error messages:1] INF error, No video found and 2] something like try setiing up the display using a standard VGA driver before trying to set up this software. Has anybody run into such a problem and if yes, what should i do to fix it?

It took more than one try for me, but I got it. I remember that there was a question that it asked, and I did not chose the default as the question was about 64 bit processors, I believe. Mke sure that the driver for the sm buss controller is correct according to the device manager.

 

i had the same problem with Win 64 , just get the catalyst 5.6 , then upgrade to 5.10 .
I think there is something wrong with the catalyst versions above 5.6

 

Thanks for the advice guys. I was able to install "catalyst 5.10",[ i don't know how?] but i installed the "catalyst 5.10 for motherboard with ati/igp graphics" which you can get at the ATI website. Am i supposed to use that on the Mx7515 or should i use the regular catalyst 5.10 drivers. If you go to the ati website and go to drivers and software for Microsoft Xp, there are a bunch of options like 1] radeon, 2]all-in-one wonder....5] motherboard with ati/igp drivers 6] notebook with ati graphics; which one am i supposed to use for the the Mx7515? Before i was trying to install the one that comes under the "Radeon" section and that was not working. Also Should i install the omega driver first and then install catalyst or is it vice-versa?

Thankyou guys for the help, i checked the 3d tool thing and it shows that i am running omega 2.75a with the ati catalyst 5.10a. So everthyings fine.

 

i seem to also be having this inf video error you described. i was able to get the omega drivers 75a on.

also for some reason i cant seem to get the proper wireless driver working

 

OK i got my wireless working now, but still seem to have probs with the catalyst 5.10
