Ok, so with the new ASUS, my wife's 7811 has been getting neglected lately. I never even noticed the BIOS update!
So, I updated the BIOS, installed a fresh new copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, and I noticed that when I try to install nTune to restore the overclock settings, it instantly leads to a BSOD. I've tried using several different drivers, and also versions 6.02 and 6.05 (latest?) of nTune, but to no avail.
I tried to overclock using Rivatuner instead, but it doesn't recognize the correct clock speeds.
Any help would be appreciated.

No real answer for you, but wanting to know the outcome since I'm in the same boat as your. BSOD when trying to use ntune, always thought it was because I was using one of the Dox drivers. On .08 BIOS.

Anyone know how to manually remove nTune? This thing will not uninstall. Can someone tell me how to remove it via registry?
-
should show up in add/remove programs Professor. If not check the actual program ie: start, programs, ntune, aand see if there is an uninstaller there.
-
Is nTune compatable with 7? Yes, you should have, as I, have an uninstaller under add/remove programs. Google nTunes/windows 7?

There is an issue with nTune getting "stuck" in the system. It will not uninstall because it creates a problem with the Windows Installer and msiexec, which is not easily fixed.
I rebooted into safe mode, with the nTune service stopped, and it still will not uninstall. Driver Sweeper doesn't remove it because it's not a driver; nTune has no uninstall program of its own; I cannot update nTune because the previous version has not been removed....and the only way it seems I can remove it is to do so directly from the registry.....and there are a lot of entries.
nTune really is complete junk. I've seen many others with this issue (and crashing because of nvclk64.sys or something like that), but it's usually solved by simply re-registering msiexec.exe and the windows installer....however, that doesn't seem to work in Windows 7. -
Do you mean Nvidia System Tools or nTune? because it hasn't been called nTune since 2007. Try reinstalling it you should be able to repair, install, or uninstall it that way.
-
nTune. And it will not reinstall/install/repair because the setup will not properly execute because it says there is a previous version already installed.
-
It should then tell you to use add/remove programs from the window control panel. If the files themselves have been removed from your program files(x86) directory then all you have left to do is clean your registry. Try ccleaner or similar to remove the extraneous registry entries.

Ok, let me make myself clear:
1) There IS an option to uninstall nTune from the control panel. It does NOT work.
2) Trying to remove nTune from the control panel in Safe Mode does NOT work.
3) Trying to use an automatic registry cleaner does NOT work.
4) Uninstalling nVidia drivers and running a driver cleaner does NOT work.
5) Trying to update to nVidia Performance Tools does NOT work (will not install...detects nTune).
6) Trying to reinstall nTune does NOT work (error:
What I need is to manually remove it from the registry, i.e. the keys. All other ways of trying to remove this piece of poop have failed. I'm not the first one to have this issue from doing some research, and the only answer seems to be to remove it via the registry...unfortunately I do not know how. -
Nevermind, I found the registry keys. My god, does this thing embed itself deep. What a piece of junk.
