I picked up the 6860fx today and when I fired it up I noticed a half circle of light starting from the bottom of screen and topping off right around mid screen where the Vista loading bar is located. It looks like back light bleeding but it adjusts as I move my head around. Is this back light bleeding or glare from the screen itself?
Is this the norm for this laptop? If so I'll just have to adjust. If not I plan on exchanging it. Hopefully this isn't the start of the return merry go round.![]()

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
Take a screenshot.

its glare from the screen they all seem to suffer from the perfect angle effect once you tweak the colors with digital vibrance the screen will look alot better but your always going to have to be at that certain angle .

Here's the thread where johnksss gave me direction on tweaking the screen. I highly recommend his advice.

ya ive always loved digital vibrance and its one reason i could never buy a ATI card

Well I returned it for another one today. The new one is definitely better. It still displays some glare and or bleeding at the bottom but it's no longer an issue.
The first one looked pretty much like this http://www.notebookreview.com/assets/30049.jpg from this review http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4208
So whether thats glare or bleeding you be the judge, Im not sure. -
Now I'm worried. I'll have to check tonight after work after I install a game. I'd hate to be sneaking through some dark shooter and have that on the screen all the time.
new P-6860fx backlight bleed or possibly glare?
