    I have a gateway w350i laptop that had a broken lcd. i changed it and now when i start it the backlight is on but no picture. i hate how i can fix, tear down, and rebuild a diesel engine but i suck in the computer field. lol. any help is appreciated.

    Most likely you need to reseat the video cable. Those small connections are easy not miss for proper connection............
