nice laptop but.....that ugly orange???

anyone attack this with a sharpie or paint or stickers or a bedazzler or something to get rid of that ugly assed orange **** on it? anyone?

 

Not a fan of Halloween huh? I mean honestly it's not bad. It's different then the usual red and blue.

 

I think it looks great.

 

When you look at it and see it at Best Buy you might think it looks ugly under the bright lighting, but when you bring it home it actually looks really nice.

 

yeah, i'm not really in the habit of putting sharpie and paint stick all over my 1.5k laptops. The orange looks much better than any acrylic paint/sharpie ever would in my opinion.
But i don't like the color scheme either... The back of the Lid is the worst though... much worse than the keyboard area. That's easy to fix though I pretty much never see it.

 

you guys are crazy, i think it looks great.in pictures the orange looks a lot brighter, but i think it's more of a copper/orange.

i think i remember someone saying they were going to try painting the orange green, but what about the lid and the led's?

 

At least it's not yellow. Yellow = Ugliest color.

 

I recently picked up a 6864FX. When I first went laptop shopping I didn't like the color, but each time I kept coming back to it I liked it more and more. Now I love the color scheme. It kind of grew on me, I guess.

 

One of my friends is thinking about getting one but he doesn't like the orange either, he wanted to see if there was a way to get a different colour scheme. But I have one and I could care less what colour it is and my best friend said he would care less if it is pink lol (no he isn't gay, it is just the specs considering the price).

 

right you get a 2000$ worth a notebook for 1300$ and you care about the color scheme.... sheesh go get your nails done /joke

 

It's all a matter of taste. I actually like the color scheme...

i havent seen it in person yet, under bright lights or not. i just been seein these pics online from random people. i canceled a dv7 from HP the day after i placed it because i ran across this laptop on best buy's website looking for a cheap one for a family member. so im kinda sweatin that color if i gotta look at it all the time.

ill go dig it at a best buy and see how bad it really can be....you're right though about it not being pink, that would be such a screwing/tease to have really good specs for cheap but only on a PINK laptop.

 

Yeah that Toshiba is really ugly, I was considering it based on the specs until I saw how it looked. And then, the 7811FX caught my eye, and from there my decision was made.

 

The toshiba also looks worse in person. I also like the Rust Orange. it's all opinion

 

It's more of a copper than it is orange, but close enough. It's really not that bad.

I saw that thing in the Best Buy where I bought my P-7811FX. That Toshiba was absolutely hideous!

 

Don't diss the orange. One of my favorite color combo is orange and black. This laptop was MADE for me =)

I love my 7811FX color scheme - coppper/metallic orange is slick...and to think I was intersted in this at first: http://explore.toshiba.com/laptops/qosmio/X305 - " new eye-popping design" - LOL

 

I love the look of my 6831 (same as the 7811). I think the gunmetal/copper combo looks great.

 

I am very fashion conscious as well and only use my P-7811 FX in a dark room and never, ever in public. If company comes I quickly cover it with a cloth.

I actually like the orange accent. (and I'm not a big orange fan) This is a very nice looking laptop. It is a finger print magnate but quite beautiful IMHO.

i got the laptop and you're right about it not being as bad as i initially thought. the fact i can finally play halo or sof2 or owlf3d or jedi academy2 or gun or vice city maxed out makes it all better. (i havent had a gaming machine in like 8 years)

So some think it is deliciously ugly. There is some orange/fear thing going on. Perhaps a pumpkin phobia is involved or maybe a citrus anxiety.

 

It must be the cover with the FX smeared across it... other than that, unless there is some type of pumpkin phobia, the keyboard area looks pretty clean to me, brushed metal with an orange accent...

I could see myself liking an all flat black metal or plastic look, but I have to say I enjoy this look anyways. And with all this laptop fashion talk I'm beginning to feel a little metro myself
