I have a (new!) P172X FX and everything works OK. However, when I install the new (fixed) 8800M GTS driver I don't have sound anymore through HDMI (and yes, HDMI out is enabled in IDT). Though, sound through laptop speakers works fine when activated.
When I reinstall the gateway nVIDIA drivers, HDMI sound is back...any idea how to fix this?

Congrats on the new laptop at least yours is working out of the box unlike mine. (I sent it back for a new one) But have you tried using a diffrent driver version from laptopvideo2go? It may just be a driver issue with the one you were using.
