I purchased a Gateway NV55S laptop to use as a Windows Media Center. Everything works great except that I cannot wake the laptop from sleep using any USB devices (e.g. WMC remote, mouse movement, etc...).
I've enable all mouse-related wake options in the device manager.
In Windows device manager, the wake-up related options on the USB Hub devices are all disabled (cannot enable). In the BIOS (updated to the latest version), there are absolutely no power management options available. What a piece of crap!
Any ideas on how to get this working? I'm about ready to just return the laptop and purchase another brand, which is unfortunate since I spent countless hours setting this thing up.
Thanks.

I had that problem when I upgraded to Win 7 from Vista on my Gateway P7805u.
Do you have a graphics card in that computer? In my case I upgraded to the latest graphics driver and that fixed the sleep problem for me. -
It's one of the new AMD A6-3400M processors, which includes the Radeon HD 6520G GPU and the latest drivers are installed. I am using Windows 7 x64.
no power management options in BIOS
