I know the 7811 won't allow for Raid at the moment, but is it possible to run two hard drives as their own drives?

I'm more of a software guy then a hardware guy, so perhaps one of the hardware guys can answer this question.

Sure, just change the boot order in the BIOS.

Why do we need to change the boot order? I just tried installing a WD 320GB as a secondary data drive in my 7811 and it is not working well - hangs sporaticaly in Vista and before it is even booted. Are you saying I should have the data drive before the system drive in the boot order?

No, the system drive needs to be first.

Can anyone confirm that they have a second drive in the 7811 that is working well? If so can you provide the brand and model? Thanks.

    Thanks ashura,

I wonder why my WD3200BEVT isn't working in the 7811. It worked fine before I took it out of it's external USB enclosure. My system drive also works fine in either of the 7811s drive bays.
