Thanks
 Ill get right on it!

How do you like it so far?
And do I have to uninstall my current Guru3d drivers before installing this one? -

seems fine, didnt run tests yet.
install just like any other driver.
mind you the modded inf is still not out. -

tagged. This driver can actually be used on my FX6860? I've had my Lappie since June and im still running on the stock 8800 gts drivers.I have no probs regarding hardware, especially in building desktops, but I'm not that saavy when it comes to apps, so I never gave the guru3d drivers a try. I'm always afraid, Im gonna mess something up.

6860/31 owners can use the following .inf that includes the 8800m gts ID, so it installs flawlessly.

You can try this if you don't have the inf mod.

Anyone test this new driver against their previous version in 3dMark06? Just curious to see if there's any difference. If no one has I'll try this new driver and list a comparison for those interested like I am.

Please do; it would be very useful.

Got it installed. Ran 3dMark06 and dropped 400 points...ouch.
 -

I really wish people wouldn't use 3DM06 as such a holy benchmark of whether a driver is "good" or not. I'd gladly lose 400 points if it meant things would be more stable.

So would I, however I also tested by playing Crysis Warhead, and the fps went down as well. I reinstalled the 177.66 drivers and 3dMark06 went back up to 9312. Shockingly enough, Crysis had higher fps. 177.66 has been a VERY stable driver for me. The point of me testing the newer drivers was to see the impact on 3dMark06. Maybe the new drivers are great, but to me, if my laptop is running slower, they aren't. I'd prefer the same stability with increased performance.
