After waiting a full day for them to respond, they ignored everything I said in my email to them too and just sent me the exact same useless link.

I swear, it's like it's a computer generated response that's triggered any time anyone mentions BSOD. It's hard to believe how blatantly they ignore information you give them about your problem.

If you made a recovery DVD then I think it will create the partition all over again for you. If you didn't, well, then yes, I think you've deleted what they're asking you to use.

I guess they'll offer to send you, for a fee, the 3 DVDs (2 DVDs for the recovery stuff and 1 for the drivers). Maybe somebody's posted images on rapidshare or something that you can download?

I sure as hell hope they don't send me that same link, though, as I already told them I tried doing just that (restoring from factory default), and now I can't even get into safe mode because every time Windows reboots to finish the install I get the BSOD.

(And whenever I try to boot into safe mode it says it can't do that until Windows has finished installing, and to boot in normal mode).

Well I didnt make recovery discs, but I just clean installed the exact vista that would oof been on the recovery disc so i basically did that. They probably will send you the same thing, I told them I did a clean format of windows Vista and they still sent me that saying to do it again.

You need to download the modded .inf file. (After extracting the Nvidia install package, you download the modded .inf file and replace the .inf file in the folder you extracted to.)

Fwiw, Gateway never did send me the Gateway Recovery link as an answer to our problem. (I told them twice that I'd already tried that, but then again, they've ignored everything else I've said, except for the fact I'm getting a BSOD.)

The bad news is they haven't sent anything at all. It's been over 50 hours now since I've heard from them after telling them their first link didn't work. It's almost like they're hoping I'll forget that my new, thousand dollar computer isn't working, almost like reps get punished for allowing consumers to send broken computers in. (Actually, it's like they're punished for offering speedy, helpful service.)

Ive been waiting about 2.5 days now for a response to my last message... I think I got him mad, he kept telling me to do something I already stated I did, or that i am unable to do. First he sent me the common BSOD link, which I told him I had already recieved, and the second message he told me to do a factory reset, even though I said i completely reformatted with my vista, and deleted the partition that held the factory vista. I asked in a polite way if he could "Give me something applicable to use that could fix my laptop, or if I will have to send it in for repairs." Maybe he took it as a shot to his intelligence? lol.

I've been waiting for 2.5 days too. So much for their "6 hour" response limit. I'm at the same stage. Told them the first link didn't work. Told them Gateway Recovery didn't work. Now it's like they're avoiding the issue.

Ehh well I dont mind waiting 1-2 days, but everytime i have ever emailed them, its been a usual 15-24 hours response back. Even with the recent ones they have sent a response within 24 hours. Its either they are stumped or just don't want to have me send it in for a new one. I do believe that even if i send it in, no fix will be given, they will try something for 20 minutes and be like OH IT WORKS FINE! and send it back. Also having the 1900x1200 was one of the reasons i picked this one up, I dont want to have to downgrade to a 1440x900 res...

They just responded. Said they can't help via email. Want me to call them during their office hours, during the work week.

I was just curious, this BSOD couldnt be casued by not installing the Intel Matrix Storage driver could it? I just realized I dont think i've ever installed it (dling now), but it shouldnt have this impact should it?
